Columbia Insulation was founded in 2022 by a team that grew up in mid-Missouri and understood firsthand what it means to live in a home that loses heat in January and bakes in August. Columbia is not a mild-climate city. It swings from genuinely cold winters to humid, hot summers, and a house that is not properly insulated fights both seasons at once.
The company started with a simple focus: serve Columbia homeowners honestly. A large share of the city's housing stock was built in the 1950s through 1980s, particularly in neighborhoods like Old Southwest, Benton-Stephens, and the areas near the University of Missouri campus. Those homes were built to energy standards that are considered well below adequate today, and many have never had their insulation properly assessed, let alone upgraded.
Since 2022, the company has grown to serve 12 communities across mid-Missouri, from Jefferson City and Fulton to Rolla and Hannibal. The focus has not changed: assess the home honestly, recommend the right solution, and do the work correctly the first time.
We tell you what your home actually needs. If your current insulation is adequate, we say so. You will never get a recommendation designed to inflate a job.
Scheduling is a commitment. We arrive when we say we will, complete the job in the agreed timeframe, and do not leave a project half-done waiting on a return visit.
From 1950s brick ranches near campus to newer subdivisions in south Columbia, we have worked on homes across the city's different eras and construction styles.
We walk you through the finished job, provide before-and-after documentation, and leave you with written records of materials and depths installed.
